4. Trampolines weren’t made for entertainment at first. They were actually made for physical education in the armed forces. It was very important for pilot and air crew training because it helped the trainees with sensations and positions that they would feel in flight.

5. Unofficial trampoline games started in 1947 in the United States. A few years after, the official games started. Then later on, an international governing body was formed. They made the rules for each competition.

6. During the 1950s, visual therapists and special education experts use trampolines to improve vision, balance and coordination for their students. However it was removed from the physical education curriculum as they were considered dangerous and could cause fatal injuries.

7. In 1975, the mini trampoline, also known as a rebounder, started to be used as equipment for cardiovascular exercise. It is said to improve stamina, strength and coordination.

When a woman is pregnant, that doesn’t mean she becomes a couch potato or become a home buddy.   2. Sleeping on their back – Pregnant mothers are advised to sleep on their left side as it increases blood flow for the baby. It can also prevent other health problems. In general, women should really avoid sleeping on their back because it causes backaches and even breathing problems. It is also difficult to manoeuvre especially if they have a growing belly.
  3. Clean the kitty litter – This might sound really weird but yes, it is true. Pregnant women cannot clean the poop box. It is because cat’s feces might contain a virus called Toxoplasmosis. This is very harmful for pregnant women. However, pregnant women should be aware that since their cats step on their litter box, they might be spreading the virus all over the home. Because of this, all contact with their precious baby kitty should be limited and the house should be kept clean at all times.
  4. Eat cold meat and soft cheeses – These two just might be one of life’s great offerings and pregnant women have the greatest appetites of all. However, they should stay away from these because they might have Listeria, a bacteria that cause Listeriosis, which is very detrimental to a pregnant woman’s health.

Pregnant women are strong yet very delicate and running the risk of having an infection or injury is definitely out of the question. Five Interesting Facts on How Trampolines are Made

There is always something interesting when learning how things are made. One of them is learning how a full-sized trampoline is created. Here are some interesting facts on how trampolines are made that might seem basic but really ecstatic.

The Frame is made of Steel.      

The frame is usually made from galvanized steel and they are bought from a supplier. This kind of steel is rust-proof from anything caused by various environmental conditions. While the springs are made from different kinds of steel depending on the manufacturer, Hi-tensile ones work best as they do not rust as quickly as others. They are important since springs are the ones that give the trampoline a good bounce.

The mat is made of woven fibre.             

Trampoline mats are usually made with woven fibres and today, they are made depending on the specification of the manufacturer. Some have them treated with anti-UV rays to avoid rips and tears from too much heat. Anti-UV rays prevent fading as most trampolines are placed outdoors. The safety pads are made of foam. They have vinyl covers to keep trampolines from getting wet. They are made to go over the springs and avoid having tiny fingers or toes getting hurt.

The manufacturing process is like a jigsaw puzzle.          

When all the materials are in the factory, the manufacturing process begins. Most trampolines are assembled by the owner. When the metal tubes are in the factory, they are bent into an arc and holes are punched in for the springs to be attached on. Then the legs are welded to U-shaped legs to fit into the frame. One end is squeezed down so all the pieces can be put together like a jigsaw puzzle.

They use hardcore – sewing machines.

The next part they make is the trampoline mat. It is cut from one huge roll of fabric and they cut it into whatever size they want. They use a hardcore industrial sewing machine to sew the straps in. Some manufacturers include D-rings to hold the mat together. Then, the foam core of the safety pads along with the vinyl cover is sewn with the same machine for it to be durable and, thus, withstand any kind of jumping. As for the springs, they do not require any other kind of process in the factory. They are already packaged from their manufacturer.

It requires 80 people.

Making a full-sized trampoline requires about 80 people to work for eight hours to be able to make 500 to 600 trampolines. It requires solid teamwork and lots of patience to get things done. That’s why every owner should take care of their trampoline as there is so much work put into it.
